The
Port of Harlingen is a shallow draft barge port that provides efficient and economical
transportation to points as close as Corpus Christi and as far
as the Great Lakes.
The
Gulf Intracoastal Waterway provides over 1,300 miles of
protected waterway. The Harlingen channel is maintained to
a width of 125 feet and a depth of 12 feet and is supplied by
The Arroyo Colorado, a fresh water river. Terminal docks
and other facilities ease shipments into and out of The Port of
Harlingen. Over 150 acres of on-and-off channel sites are
available for industrial firms requiring economical
transportation and attractive land lease rates. The port
is also an important link in the comprehensive transportation
network of the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. |
